World Water Day Celebrated by Shalimar Plastic Industries
March 22 is celebrated as World Water Day
every year and focuses attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources.
2014 World Water Day theme is relates to the relationship between energy and water. Water is needed to generate much of our electricity, while energy is needed to pump, treat and supply clean water to many of the World’s cities.
Water is required for energy generation and transmission, approximately 8 percent of the world’s energy production is used for pumping, treating and transporting water. Saved water means saved energy—a double benefit—and a better future for generations to come.
As World Water Day is observed, Our Company urges utilities to take an active role in addressing the issue of water and energy conservation by implementing smart water networks on a local scale. Our Customers have long expressed concerns about leaks, non-revenue water, theft, using data for actionable intelligence, and an overall need to conserve resources. The technology in smart water networks addresses all of these concerns and serves as a foundation for leveraging future opportunities.”
